    About Me - Sword Sales EU (SwordSales.eu) / snr_sword - shipping / returns

    About me - snr_sword - shipping / payment / returns

Please see further down for my full seller terms and conditions (including countries I can / will not ship to).

    Good Day
My name is Mark and I love to collect swords. Part of that means I have to sell swords in order to make space and money to buy more swords to experience. At any one time I have more than 120 swords at our home; I built the display alcoves / cases you see below especially for them. So I consider myself a collector who buys and sells, not a dealer per say.

Originally on eBay I used to be known as Travlurs as you can see, then almost exclusively as a buyer; check my 99.8% positive feedback! I stopped buying swords on eBay after I was defrauded and they would not help me. After a couple of years, I decided to start selling swords on eBay and was known as Snr_Sword; check my 100% positive feedback. I stopped selling swords on eBay for a number of reasons (fraud, blackmail, fake zero feedback buyers, increasing ban on swords, removal of some of my auctions for false / pathetic reasons, etc.). I now sell on vBid me militaria auctions and here on Antique Swords Org.

I also run my own sword sales site; Sword Sales EU, as you can see, I have sold quite a few swords / edged weapons and have pretty much a 100% happy customer base.

    My antique-swords.org and vbid.me sellers terms and conditions;

    1) The buyer is the importer; I am not an exporter. This is important as it is up to the buyer, not me, to make sure anything they buy from me can be legally imported into their country of residence.

    2) I will take responsibility for clearing my local Customs.

    3) Insurance, when available, costs 4% for loss insurance, 4% for damage insurance, or 7% for combined loss and / or damage insurance; the insured amount and any declared Customs amount must be the same. Insurance only covers for loss and / or damage, it does not cover for Customs issues at your country's border.

    4) New Customers (people who have not bought from me before) and / or where I know countries are a problem for importing certain items I will only accept payment by bank transfer, Western Union, cheque or a split PayPal payment (where the buyer pays twice; 2 times 50%). Countries I know to be a problem are detailed below along with the item types and issues. Also, if you are paying by PayPal and want me to ship to an address other than a PayPal certified address, I may refuse PayPal or require you pay in two equal installments unless you are known to me.

    5) Payment by PayPal or non-EU originating bank transfers attract a 3% surcharge of the total, including shipping, as I do not actually receive what the buyer sends / pays me. Non-EU bank originating transfers must be sent "sender charges paid" as I am not willing to pay these for you.

    6) There are no surcharges by me for payments made by Western Union or EU / UK / IBAN bank transfers; I have USD, GBP and Euro accounts. I will even accept UK cheques in British Pounds Sterling without surcharge (as I sometimes sell items in Euros, the conversion rate of Euros into GBP shall be that shown by Yahoo Finance).

    7) I send via the Post Office, no-one else, ever. If a buyer wants to arrange a courier to collect, they can.

Problem Countries (for me to send to)

Spain: Although it is legal in Spain to have, buy and sell edged weapons, the Spanish Post Office has banned all categories of weapons and will, if they find an item is a weapon, pass it to the police. So although it is legal, the Post Office will not carry weapons. I will send to Spain but the risk is with the buyer.

Australia and New Zealand: Aussie and Kiwi police and Customs require importers (buyers) to obtain police permits for knives and bayonets, though strangely not swords! So, if you buy bayonets / knives from me I will send them but at your risk / duty to get a permit prior to the items arriving in your country.

France, Germany, Austria and Italy: I will not send Nazi related items (items bearing Swastikas or other Third Reich emblems) to these countries as they are illegal there and both the buyer and I could end up facing criminal charges if I did.

Russia and the Ukraine: Edged weapons are illegal and the post offices terrible, so I will not ship there at all for any reason.

Malaysia: Malaysia now (selectively) prohibits imports of knives including keris except with a permit. So I will send but the risk / duty to get a permit in time is with the buyer.

Indonesia, China (except Hong Kong), Middle East, Arab States, SE Asia (except Singapore and Malaysia), former Soviet countries, Turkey, Israel, Africa (except South Africa), tiny islands I have never heard of: Don't even ask! I do not ship to such places.

    Returns!

I honour the consumer laws of the country from where items are despatched. Although they are meant to be the same in the EU, they are not. Most items I ship from Spain and Portugal. Spain and Portugal interprets EU consumer distant buying laws as only stock (something new which I have stock or access to stock of - not individual antiques) items are covered by a blanket returns OK policy. That is, if you buy something from me and it is shipped from Portugal or Spain, you are only entitled to return the item for a full refund if it is not as described, or if it is a new and stocked item. If I sold you a stock item that is new, you have 10 days from receipt by which to return the item for a full refund. I will only refund my shipping costs if the item is not as described. I will only make a refund once the item or items are returned to me and in the same condition as when they were despatched by me. Where you are not covered by statutory / the above returns policy, I may well offer you a partial refund.

Items shipped by me from the UK / Australasia (where appropriate - do not ask me to ship an item I have in Spain or Portugal from the UK !!) are shipped according to the national legal returns policies of those countries.
