    Hmmmm, it seems the spam control is set too high!

    What a process to get registered!
    I have no idea why your system thought I might be a spammer.
    OK, you created my registration by email.
    But don't you think such rigidity will put people off?

    Hi Rover
    Between a rock and a hard place.
    The fact is, everyone can view messages and even guests can posts messages without registering. But guest messages have to be approved first, of course, otherwise there will be tons and tons of prescription med ads and the like.
    Registered users generally can post immediately. But then that opens the door for a spammer to simply register in order to post an un-moderated message. So I need to have an anti-spam system that looks at the details of the registration including their email address and location which gets compared with a database of "known" spammers.

    I think that is pretty nifty.
    Sure, real users like you get caught up in the net, which is why I make sure people registering know to contact me if they get blocked from automated registration.

    The alternatives are a much more regulated regime which I believe puts many people off; many people hate registering for many reasons. Or to have forums plastered with spam, and, lets face it, spammers are real clever; they post as real people and then later show their true colors when they feel no-one is looking.

    So I am keeping a close eye on it, but I hope and think I have the best balance.
    Have a good one.

    Into the valley of Death
    Rode the six hundred.

    Cannon to right of them,
    Cannon to left of them,
    Cannon in front of them
    Volley'd & thunder'd;
    Storm'd at with shot and shell,
    Boldly they rode and well,
    Into the jaws of Death,
    Into the mouth of Hell
    Rode the six hundred.

    Flash'd all their sabres bare,
    Flash'd as they turn'd in air
    Sabring the gunners there,
    Charging an army while
    All the world wonder'd:
    Plunged in the battery-smoke
    Right thro' the line they broke;
    Cossack & Russian
    Reel'd from the sabre-stroke,
    Shatter'd & sunder'd.
    Then they rode back, but not
    Not the six hundred.
