It was interesting, I had frequently noticed Japanese and perhaps some other Asian tourists taking photos at every opportunity. Sometimes to the point of being annoying to others; photos of anything and everything and at every moment of the day, right?

So, I was watching an English TV program about Stratford-upon-Avon I think it was. And the reporter asked some Japanese why it was they took so many photos. And the answer was, because Japanese only get around 1 week holiday per year, they take as many photos as possible so they can continue to enjoy their briefest of pleasures as fully as possible once that go home.

So next time, when Japanese tourists start to bug you taking photos of everything and anything, spare a thought for the fact they do so because they only get 1 week's holiday per year.
