Talking Sticky stuff for the European Swords Forum! Everything is blue! Introduce yourselves!

God, don't you hate it, every forum has at the top "Rules - Read before you post / use these forums". I personally loathe the pretentious authoritarian dribble that you often find.

What is worse perhaps for me are the forums with multiple "sticky" posts by the administrators, demanding you read not one but tons of "important" messages (dictates) by them. What is more, they always close the thread, so you can not ask about or comment upon the rules.

OK, so this forum has rules and I am sure you know what they are / should be and can find them if you look! If you want a "Rules, quick reference guide", it is; "Don't do it".

Unlike other forums, you can debate / ask questions relating to the rules / what is permissible and what is not right here, but there is a forum for this: Forum General / Rules / Policies / Other, please don't post them here.

Introduce yourselves: If you have a particular interest in European Swords, introduce yourself here!

Do you dream in color / colour?
What color / colour do you dream?

    Blue is for European!

So look, go to the lower navigation row at the bottom of the page and you will find a pull down menu. Here you can choose a color / colour theme for your "skin", perhaps according to your interest (European Vs American Vs Japanese Vs Ethnographic swords).

I made blue the default because I like it. You will see that each color / colour is themed with the 4 main interest areas (European, American, Japanese, Ethnographic swords); the associated sword for each interest area is in the same color / colour as the skin. But hey, you can simply chose a color / colour because you like it, no problem. Blue is themed with having an interest in European swords; I chose blue because the Europeans sailed the seas and fought many battles overseas.
    Into the valley of Death
    Rode the six hundred.

    Cannon to right of them,
    Cannon to left of them,
    Cannon in front of them
    Volley'd & thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
    Boldly they rode and well,
    Into the jaws of Death,
    Into the mouth of Hell
    Rode the six hundred.

    Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air
    Sabring the gunners there,
    Charging an army while
    All the world wonder'd:
    Plunged in the battery-smoke
    Right thro' the line they broke;
    Cossack & Russian
    Reel'd from the sabre-stroke,
    Shatter'd & sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
    Not the six hundred.

    Thumbs up Sword Sales EU

    Dear Zorro Scabbard
I do dislike (and mistrust) other forums, so I hope you make a better job of this one; take that as best wishes and good luck.

So, I will certainly contribute if things are good.

I have a primary interest in British and other European swords, and several years experience of collecting and selling / dealing also. I think, actually I know there is a lot of misinformation out there, so honest, open debate is a good thing I think. I'll give your European forums a kick off if you like.

    Cheers
    Mark

PS More smilies would be great.
