Whenever someone gets banned for spamming on one forum, their details automatically and immediately get provided to other forums, such as this one. If someone with a bad forum reputation elsewhere tries to post messages / register here, their are prevented from doing so and have to discuss the matter with our administrator in order to get the restriction lifted.

No system like this is perfect admittedly. Often the spam database contains IP addresses of spammers. These IP addresses are not their personal PC's ID, but rather the IP address of the Internet provider used the day the spammer was online. So, someone totally innocent can connect to the Internet, try to register on a forum and be prevented just because they were unfortunate enough to be assigned the IP address of the spammer before. But the system works exceptionally well in preventing spam.

If you attempt to post and / or register and are prevented on any forum, you should not take it personally, but rather contact the administrator and say you were prevented from registering but do not know why / do not believe the reasons valid. It just means your registration needs to be done by the administrator manually. Just be happy the flood of Chinese electronic shop and fake Viagra adverts have been curtailed.
